Barbara Ruscingno has been in the nursing profession since 1970. She graduated from Englewood Nursing School in 1970. She was awarded a scholarship to Seton Hall University and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in 1972. She has journeyed through a career of OB/GYN and women’s health, Medical Surgical Nursing, and Critical Care Nursing for over 20 years; also, she worked for 10 years in Interventional Radiology. She has worked in Post Anesthesia Care Units and recovered heart and brain surgical patients.
Her diversified medical skills led her to UNLV where she attended graduate school and earned a Master’s of Science in Nursing. She became a Family Nurse Practitioner December 16, 2008. She has worked in neurology and with critically ill patients from 2010 through 2013 as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner. She joined The Neuropathy and Pain Centers of Las Vegas in 2013 and has been an instrumental part of the practice.
Barbara has been a resident of Las Vegas for 26 years with a diversified career. Recently, a professional council of her peers nominated Barbara for the Nevada Nurse Practitioner of the Year; she was chosen by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners as the recipient of the prestigious award of Nurse Practitioner of the Year for the State of Nevada for 2016.
